Brooks Scores 39 for Canada

USA Wins 127-118

In a high-scoring affair, the United States defeated Canada 127-118 in the FIBA Basketball World Cup on Sunday. Dillon Brooks led the way for Canada with 39 points, the most ever scored by a Canadian in the tournament. However, it wasn't enough to overcome a balanced attack from the United States, who had six players score in double figures.

The United States took control of the game early, building a 10-point lead in the first quarter. Canada fought back to within four points in the second quarter, but the United States extended their lead to 12 points by halftime. Canada came out strong in the third quarter, cutting the lead to just three points. However, the United States responded with a 10-0 run to take control of the game.

Brooks was the only Canadian player to score more than 20 points. Jamal Murray added 19 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 18 points. For the United States, Jayson Tatum led the way with 22 points. James Harden added 20 points, and Donovan Mitchell had 19 points.

The loss drops Canada to 1-1 in the tournament, while the United States improves to 2-0. Canada will next play against Greece on Tuesday, while the United States will face off against the Czech Republic.
