Italy clinched their first major title in 15 years with a penalty shootout victory over England in the Euro 2020 final.

The match, which ended 1-1 after regulation and extra time, was decided by a penalty shootout that Italy won 3-2. Federico Bernardeschi scored the winning penalty, after Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka had missed for England.

It was Italy's second European Championship title, after their victory in 1968. England, meanwhile, remain without a major title since winning the World Cup in 1966.

The match was played in front of a crowd of over 60,000 at Wembley Stadium in London. It was a tense and dramatic affair, with both teams having chances to win the game in regulation and extra time.

In the end, though, it was Italy who emerged victorious. They will now head to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as one of the favorites.
