Global Cyberattack Targets Multiple Countries
Record-breaking breakout time and sophisticated covert activity
A global cyberattack has hit several countries, including Sweden, Portugal, California (United States), Missouri (United States), Germany, India, Canada, New York (United States), and the United Kingdom. The attack is believed to be the work of Russian cybercriminals and has affected several US federal government agencies. Radwares' Live Threat Map, which provides near real-time information about cyberattacks, is tracking 230 adversaries and has noted a record eCrime breakout time. The 2024 Global Threat Report has also unveiled an alarming rise in covert activity and cyber espionage.
The attack exploits a previously unknown vulnerability in Microsoft Exchange Server, and Microsoft has released an emergency patch to address the issue.
